
Nairobi, 17 September 2025 — The Africa Minigrid Developers Association (AMDA) is delighted to announce that Christopher Olobo, recently appointed to the AMDA Board, has been elected as the new Chair at the first meeting of the newly elected Board.
Christopher is the CEO of Dhamana Guarantee Company, a financial credit guarantor focused on East Africa. Dhamana provides unconditional and irrevocable guarantees for local currency debt obligations, ensuring timely repayment of principal and interest on bonds and loans. He brings 20 years of experience in project finance and structuring across Europe and Africa. Prior to leading Dhamana, Christopher served as an Investment Specialist at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and held senior roles in project and infrastructure finance at PwC and Mott MacDonald in the UK.
On his election, Christopher said:
